Royal Enfield Continental GT discontinued
Gaadiwadi reports that the Royal Enfield Continental GT has been discontinued in India.

The cult motorcycle maker will be introducing a bigger variant, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 this summer.

In December last year, it was reported that the Royal Enfield Continental GT managed to clock only 3 units in November. The lack of sales can be attributed to the discontinuation of the bike from the Indian market. According to the media site, the brand's authorised dealerships have stopped accepting the bookings for the bike. However, Royal Enfield is set to introduce a bigger variant, the Continental GT 650, along with the Interceptor INT 650. The GT 650 will be the most powerful cafe racer from the brand, and will still be one of the most affordable cafe racers in the country.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT has a distinction of using top-spec cycle parts like 300 mm front Brembo disc; twin downtube cradle frame; twin rear Paioli gas-charged shock absorbers, and Pirelli Sport Demon tyres. The front end uses telescopic forks, and the rear wheel employs a 240 mm disc.

The motorcycle has a 535 cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection. It is capable of generating 29.1 bhp of power at 5,100 rpm and 44 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine mates with a 5-speed transmission. Though the bike is one-of-a-kind in its segment, its chief rival is the KTM 390 Duke in the price segment.
