Inspired by the eponymous Fabia and placed between the SE Edition and SE L Edition versions of the Kamiq, the new Design Edition builds on the lesser grade and features some interesting gizmos. Here, Skoda mentions the 17-inch Propus aero alloys, black side mirror caps and roof, and rear privacy windows. A black headliner is on deck inside, next to the aluminum pedals, ambient lighting, red trim on the dashboard, and a three-spoke sports steering wheel.
Interested parties must choose between two engines, as the 2025 Skoda Kamiq Design Edition is offered with a 1.0-liter unit with 95 ps (94 hp/70 kW) and a 1.0-liter mill that develops 116 ps (114 hp/85 kW). Both are gasoline burners and feature a standard manual gearbox. However, the punchier flavor is also available with an optional seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. Skoda says the base motor returns 51.9 mpg UK (43.2 mpg US/5.4 l/100 km), the 116 ps manual has a fuel consumption of 52.3 mpg UK (43.6 mpg US/5.4 l/100 km), and the automatic is rated at 50.6 mpg (40.1 mpg US/5.6 l/100 km) on the WLTP cycle.
According to the Czech automaker, which is part of the Volkswagen Group, the new Skoda Kamiq Design Edition starts at £25,855 ($32,350) OTR for the base model with the manual transmission and rises up to £28,185 ($35,265) OTR for the automatic variant with the higher output. The base Kamiq SE Edition starts at £24,190 ($30,265) with the lesser motor, £26,520 ($33,180) with the 116 ps DSG, and £27,865 ($34,865) with the 1.5L TSI 150 ps (148 hp/110 kW) DSG.
Skoda also offers the Kamiq in the UK in the SE L Edition flavor, with the 1.0 TSI 116 ps and the 1.5 TSI 150 ps priced from £27,335 ($34,200) and £28,730 ($35,950), respectively. Their automatic versions (DSG) are available from £28,785 ($36,015) and £30,130 ($37,700), respectively. For the Kamiq Monte Carlo, Skoda is asking for at least £29,435 ($36,830) with the 1.0L 116 ps manual, £30,885 ($38,645) with the automatic, £30,830 ($38,575) for the 1.5 TSI 150 ps manual, and £32,230 ($40,325) for the 1.5 TSI 150 ps DSG.
The Skoda Kamiq originally came out in 2019 and was facelifted in 2023. It's produced in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, and it's a subcompact crossover that utilizes the VW Group's MQB A0 platform. Thus, it is closely related to the Volkswagen T-Cross, Polo, SEAT Arona, Skoda Kushaq, and Scala.
