Around Rs 36 million. This was pocketed the state from January 1 to June 14 this year for offenses of speeding on the M1.Particularly between straw and Camp Chapelon, where the radars installed to detect speeding were more efficient.

13 045 drivers were pinned to the offense on the highway at straws over this period. A Camp Chapelon, 4062 fines were imposed on motorists.

Since the installation of two Speed Cameras to these two specific locations, an average of 80 citations were issued daily, according to statistics. The fine shall be of Rs 2000 each time a motorist is pinned for speeding.

However, since these control cameras were installed December 6, 2010, police noted that there was no major accident causing loss of life listed in straw and Camp Chapelon.

Only minor accidents were reported. Only for the period from December 6 to 31, 2481 tickets were issued at Camp Chapelon and 4679 at straws.
