SsangYong Launches Korando Sports in South Korea
Korean automaker SsangYong has revamped its aging Actyon Sports utility truck and rechristened it Korando Sports.

The Korando Sports is based on the SUT-1 concept that SsangYong unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show and updated for the Frankfurt show.

SsangYong refers to the Korando Sports as a Leisure Utility Vehicle, or LUV. In essence, it's a four-door pickup based on the Actyon sport-ute that's been sold in South Korea and some export markets since 2005.

Offered in both rear- and all-wheel-drive variants, the Korando Sports is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel that makes 155 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra acquired a controlling interest in SsangYong in late 2010.
