If you’ve never heard of Stark Future, then you’ve probably been living under a rock. The electric motorcycle startup based out of Barcelona, Spain, has pretty much set the EV dirtbike world on fire with the Varg electric motorcycle. And it’s gone to great lengths to showcase this thing’s capabilities.
You don’t need to look far, either. We’ve talked a whole bunch about the Varg, and how it’s enjoying success in racing, and being tested and ridden by some serious names in the world of motorcycle racing.
So yeah, clearly, Stark Future is an eccentric company—perhaps one that’s run by a bunch of techie, geeky, nerds who know a thing or two about cutting-edge tech. And this became very apparent when it decided to celebrate its success by launching something completely unrelated to the Varg electric motorcycle. Yep, they’ve ditched the champagne and trophies and instead opted for something that’s weird, nerdy, and undeniably badass: a sword.
Yes, a frickin’ sword.
Stark is calling it the Klinga Sabre, and it’s a deadly weapon that just might be as cutting-edge as the Stark Varg itself. And while it may seem like it has absolutely nothing to do with motorcycles (unless you’re planning to cosplay as some sort of EV motocross-riding crusader from the future), beneath the surface, it sort of embodies what Stark Future stands for.
The Klinga Sabre is 3D-printed out of titanium and will be limited to just 1,000 pieces. It’s a nod to what Stark hopes to achieve in the future, as it recently struck a partnership with 3D printing specialist Farsoon Technologies. But apart from sophisticated manufacturing techniques, the Klinga Sabre belongs nowhere near a motorcycle.
That being said, Stark Future describes it as a tribute to their "extraordinary milestones in 2024" and a nod to the riders, fans, and team members who’ve fueled their success. Basically, it’s a shiny, sharp testament to their community and the determination that got them to where they are.
So, if collecting all sorts of weird and wonderful weapons is something that’s up your alley, you can check it out on Stark Future’s official website. Bidding for this thing just recently closed, with some of the highest bidders shelling out close to 2,000 euros (around $2,100 USD) for this fancy blade. Stark says that those who placed bids on the Klinga Sabre from December 6 to 8 would receive them before Christmas Eve, which means quite a few folks will have a fancy titanium sword as a centerpiece for their Christmas dinners.
So yeah, kudos to Stark for being, well, different. You’ve just proved that celebrating success doesn’t need to make sense. It just has to be badass.
