"Tilted TDI" Is One Crazy Jetta Locomotive Rolling Coal Through the Hood

Audi TDI buyers got huge checks in the mail while Europeans still haven't fully figured out how to make all the cars legal. And there's something particularly illegal-looking about a Jetta that makes as much smoke as a locomotive. You couldn't get away with something like that in Germany... maybe only at the track.

This particular model is the Mk5, which is still one of the coolest-looking compacts ever. It's got a chrome mustache and Golf-like rounded headlights. We're not aware of any official purple paint, but it seems to match the character of this machine quite well and looks a lot like the blue of the R32.

The TDI engine in question has got to be the 1.9-liter, know for being as tough as old boots. We've seen other cars of this era being converted into dragsters with huge chimney stacks and fat front tires, but this is more of a show queen. Based on all that smoke, we can only assume that it's been tuned and maybe has a big turbo too.

Due to the extreme camber, the thick chrome lip of the BBS vintage wheels are almost touching the fenders. It makes you wonder if this bad boy can even take a corner. But of course of tilted_tdi has another newer Jetta TDI as his daily driver.
