According to the UK's Daily Mail, Opel/Vauxhall have named their new two-door mini hatchback, codenamed Junior, as the Adam. The vehicle's straightforward name will leave many drivers bemused, the moniker will have more of a resonance with German fans of the brand.
After all, Adam pays homage to the German automaker's founder, Adam Opel.
As far as uninspired car names go, Opel's Adam is up there with Ford's Ka and Nissan Almera, the Mail says. We wonder if sales staff with introduce female customers to the car with that famous palindrome: 'Madam I'm Adam'.

The Adam, set to go on sale in early 2013, is a four-seater that's 3.7m long, roughly the same length as a Mini hatchback. The new model is set to compete with the aforementioned Mini and the Fiat 500.
The Adam will be powered by a one-litre, three-cylinder engine.
