Previews a future crossover to rival the Nissan Qashqai. Toyota has unveiled the second version of the Toyota C-HR concept at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt.

While the exterior design looks largely similar to first model, it features new headlamps, new LED accents on the lower bumper, a silver metallic finish, large 5-spoke alloy wheels, larger ORVMs, updated taillamps.

For improved practicality, Toyota has equipped the C-HR Concept with two extra doors for rear occupants, although it does seem that the greenhouse for them is small. It’s quite likely that the production-spec model will feature a more-conventional styling with a larger greenhouse.

The Toyota C-HR Concept is based on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA), which is their attempt at a global modular platform. As for powertrain details, Toyota still hasn’t released them yet, although the claim that the engine will have a thermal efficiency of over 40 percent, as well as increased fuel efficiency by making the hybrid system, including the motor and battery, smaller and more lightweight.

The production-spec Toyota C-HR Concept will debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
