Toyota to Initiate a Vehicle Recall in India
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) will be recalling a few thousand cars in India very soon. Toyota will be the second Japanese car maker to initiate a vehicle recall in India this month, the first being Nissan for a possible defect in the brake master cylinder of a select batch of Nissan Micras and Sunnys.

While there are no details such as the car or cars in question, the problem being addressed or even the number of cars being recalled, a TKM official has confirmed that there would be a recall issued soon. The exact details of the recall will be issued in a statement by Toyota on Monday, the official has said. Toyota maybe currently evaluating the full extent of the recall.

TKM recalled about 1,000 units of the Toyota Corolla last month for a possible airbag defect. The affected cars were manufactured between January-June 2003.

In October 2012, 8,700 units of the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Camry were recalled for a problem with the power window switch. In December 2011, 41,000 units of the Toyota Etios and Liva went back to the dealerships to fix an inlet pipe to the fuel tank. And back in January 2008, 20,000 units of the Toyota Innova were also recalled to prevent oil leakage.
