Toyota Kirloskar Motors is planning to release the next version of their briskly sold out MPV – the Innova in 2012, says the official information.
Though, it is worth to note that there won’t be a lot of modifications. The customer shouldn’t expect much of a variation between the existing car and the one to be launched in. The price shouldn’t worry customers too much as there won’t be a huge difference between the costs of the new version and the current one.
The similar IMV-platform that works in the present Innova will be used for the production of the new machine and the changes will not be overall. Toyota’s representatives say that the customers of their popular MPV are pretty happy with the present setup, and too radical changes may affect the sales of the upcoming version which is certainly not projected.
For the company it is practically difficult to improve this MPV which very much gives you “all you desire”. The same size as the current one will be set in the next generation Innova. In a recent survey carried out by the Japanese automaker the existing owners voted against a bigger vehicle. The new model will be carefully restyled by Toyota engineers working at a more flexible seating arrangement. So you can suppose some new appeal with even better space utilization. Engineers are working on the improvement of the space for the third row.
Regarding to the engine, there won’t be a big change also. Of course the new engines will be more powerful but insignificantly. Probably an automatic option will be introduced in the new version of the Innova.
Summary, the restyled make of the MPV with better space utilization – it’s maximum that we will see. The engine will be adjusted for a little better performance and an option of autotransmission is going to be available.
