A family trip ended catastrophe. On the way back, the engineer Arnaud Paul lost control of his Peugeot 307. He died immediately with his 10 month baby and his cousin, Hans Nicolas.

A family trip turned to the drama this Sunday, March 6. What should have been a memorable moment for both families of Ste-Croix, Port Louis, ended as a nightmare. An ugly off the road into a steep turn around 17 hours in Bois Skunk, Rivière-Noire, has claimed the lives of two cousins and children of one of them.

This Sunday, Arnaud Gerard Paul, 33, the driver, and passengers - his wife, Joanne his ten months son, Joshua and his cousin, Nicolas Hans, 23 years and a friend, Shaheen Hossenee, went for a trip to Plaine-Champagne. His father and other family members also wanted to enjoy the nice weather to spend some time together.

On the winding road back the drama was played out. In a climb just before the entrance to block Fortier Arnaud Gerard Paul, an engineer by profession, has lost control of his vehicle in a sharp turn and was off the road.

The Peugeot was literally off the asphalt and crashed against a tree. Under the shock, the baby was thrown onto the asphalt. His father and uncle died on the spot although the two front airbags was fired.

The roof of the car completely crushed, and victims have been pulled out of the car with difficulty by their relatives who were following in another vehicle. The two young women who were seated in the back seat has serious injuries. They were directed to the intensive care unit of Victoria Hospital in Candos.

According to the evidence of relatives to the Rivière-Noire police, an off-road car being stuck after the Peugeot and the driver kept honking because he was moving too slowly for his taste. Paul Arnaud then accelerated while looking in the rear-view mirror. And he finished his run down the road.

It was difficult for police to drag out the Peugeot of the ravine. The dense traffic on a Sunday afternoon was somewhat disturbed and it is only about 20.00h crushed car was moved to the police station at Rivière Noire.

Meanwhile, relatives of the victims went to Victoria Hospital where care was provided to survivors and where the three victims were to be autopsied by the chief forensic police, Dr Sudesh KumarGungadin. The concluding revealed that they all died of a fractured skull.

The closed face, overwhelmed by grief, the relatives present at the morgue had no words to express their grief. The home of Hans Nicolas, Ludovic Boullé Street, Le Cornu, St. Croix, Micheline, his grandmother recalls with sadness the preparations for the gathering in the morning on Sunday and the pain of having to bury two grandchildren and one great grandchild on the same day.
