Alexandre Louis Low Kwong wanted to take care of his health by going to the hospital to undergo treatment. But en route, this 72 year old was hit by a bus on Thursday morning at the Place d'Armes, Port Louis, when he was on foot. Since then, he was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital Dr. Jeetoo.
Sunday, Alexandre Louis Low Kwong pushed his last breath at 13:30. Father of six sons, he lived with Patrick, a son, at Pointe aux Sables since January. The day of the tragedy, he left home early, according to Patrick: "My father was always very morning. That day, he had to go to the hospital in Port-Louis, to be admitted. He suffered a hernia and would be examined to determine whether he should undergo surgery."
Alexandre Louis Low Kwong, according to various relatives, had gone to Central Market for a tea. It was around 7:30. It would have taken the direction of the hospital through the Place d'Armes. He had crossing the road and did not use the crosswalk.

"It was 7:55 ET I was about to go to the office when I phoned to tell me that my father was the victim of a traffic accident," says Patrick. The bus driver, local of Riche-Terre, has been tested negative to the alcohol test. On Monday, he appeared in court in Port-Louis, where a charge of manslaughter was brought against him.
