It's big and imposing, but this old Pontiac Bonneville is without question a thing of beauty.

The 1950s was a time of style and extravagant design, in the world of cars at least. It may have been a conservative social era in the US, but one thing that was very liberal was automotive design. With aircraft styling being a huge influence, America churned out some of the most daring and downright gorgeous cars ever built. These were the days of excessive chrome and tail fins, two trademark looks from legendary GM design chief Harley Earl.
