The top-of-the-line 2012 Kia Soul has crossed the psychologically critical $20,000 mark for the new model year. The base 2012 Kia Soul starts at $14,650, while the top-of-the-line Soul! starts at $20,350

The 2012 Soul pricing reflects a $655 increase in the base model. The Soul is on sale now.

The 2012 Soul comes in three trim levels, Soul, Soul+ and Soul!.

The 2012 Soul, which gets a midcycle freshening and a new 138-horsepower 1.6-liter GDI engine linked to a six-speed manual transmission, was formally unveiled at the 2011 New York Auto Show.

Standard features on the 2012 Soul include a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, vehicle stability management and Hill-Start Assist Control.

Kia says it will continue to offer special-edition Souls in the 2012 model year.
