2013 Suzuki Wagon R Premieres In Japan
The Suzuki Wagon R was always one of the most successful ‘Kei’ cars in Japan. Here is a preview of 2013 Suzuki Wagon R that made its debut in Tokyo this week.

The front looks new but one can easily identify it as a Suzuki Wagon R. The larger headlamps are stretched back; the rectangular grill bears three thick strips and is finished in silver color. Interestingly there is no provision for fog lamps, perhaps they may be integrated in the future?

On the rear, the bumper feels a little bulky making it look taller than it actually is. The tail lamps have undergone subtle changes.

Coming to the interiors, the new dashboard is finished in dual tone. The steering is new and the gear knob is now mounted on the dashboard, freeing up the space between the driver and passenger seats for storage.

At 3.39 metre the car is shorter than the outgoing model but the wheelbase remains same at 2.4 metre, which means there won’t be any skimping on the legroom. The new Wagon R weighs between 780 Kg – 870 Kg.

The 660cc 3 cylinder, petrol motor makes 52 bhp and 64 bhp in normally aspirated and turbocharged versions respectively. However, if the new Wagon R comes to India, the K10 motor powering the current Wagon R will take charge.
