2014 Toyota Yaris and Vios Get Inspired by the Dear Qin Concepts
If you remember, the Toyota Dear Qin concepts were showcased at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show as styling precursors to a future compact sedan and a hatchback.

Auto.163.com reports that the Dear Qin concepts are indeed the source of inspiration for the 2014 Toyota Vios sedan and Yaris hatchback that will sell in the Chinese market. The website also presents us the renderings of the new Yaris and Vios based on the concepts.

The 2014 Toyota Yaris gets a revamp of the sheet metal. The front fascia has much more modern and rounded look, the headlamps are sharp and extend all the way to the fenders. This Yaris facelift could travel to other markets where the model is already available.

The rear of the car is tapered, just like the Dear Qin hatchback concept although the design would be toned down quite a few notches when compared to the concept car.

The Vios sedan sports a similar front fascia as the Yaris but would get an extra dosage of chrome. The rear of the car is well executed and has a typical air of Toyota attached to it. The rendering looks reminiscent with the test mule of the car which was spotted earlier in Thailand.

The Vios sedan will be longer than the previous model by about 10cm but the wheelbase hasn’t changed. Both cars will use a 1.5 litre 136 bhp petrol engine which will either be mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The current lineup which includes a 86 bhp 1.3 litre engine and a 118 bhp 1.6 litre engine (both petrol) is expected to continue.

The 2014 Toyota Yaris will likely make its debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show on April 20th while the Toyota Vios sedan is expected to show its face in China at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November.
