Available across all five grades, the Civic Black Pack sees the addition of black 17-inch wheels (the VTi and VTi-S get 16-inch wheels), a black front bumper lip spoiler, black side skirts, black wing mirror caps, a black spoiler and a black grille.
Honda will charge buyers an additional AUD 2,998 (Rs 76 500) for the Black Pack on the VTi, VTi-S, VTi-L and VTi-LX grades, while on the Civic RS which already gets a black grille and spoiler, the additional cost buyers will incur will be AUD 2,298 (Rs 58 600).
Dealerships of Honda in Australia have started accepting bookings for the 2016 Civic, which has already garnered 200 pre-orders. The tenth-generation 2016 Civic will be available with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine for the Australian market. The 1.8-liter petrol develops 140 hp and 174 Nm of torque whereas the VTEC Turbo will output 170 hp and 220 Nm of torque. Both engines will be paired to a CVT driving the front wheels.
For the Australian market, the new Civic will be exported from Honda’s Thailand plant. According to a recent report, Honda is considering the Civic for the Indian market as well, as there exists a large gap between the Honda City and the soon-to-launch Honda Accord Hybrid.
