Design influenced by Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0. Hyundai Elantra/Avante has been the company’s one of the most successful product.

The next-gen Elantra was scheduled for a mid-2016 release, but it seems the company has read the changing market scenario and will launch the new model in South Korea by October 2015. This will be followed by its debut in North America at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

The next-gen Elantra will draw influence from the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language that can be seen on the latest Hyundai vehicles, according to a new teaser posted by the company. As per new reports it has been confirmed that the power train of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra/Avante will include a 1.6 Turbo GDi delivering 175 hp and mated to a 7-speed DCT. Its fuel consumption is speculated to be 18.28 kmpl for the highway.

Hyundai expects to achieve 5-Star rating for the Small Overlap Crash Test from the IIHS and has constructed 53% of the body shell with high strength steel to offer maximum protection to occupants. Reports claims that the Elantra will be the most aerodynamic sedan in its class with a drag coefficient of 0.27 Cd.

The infotainment system in the new Elantra/Avante will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity. Some of the other features will include an 8-inch touchscreen display, sound system by Infinity, two USB outlets, front and rear heated seats, and start/stop button. Safety features such as Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection will also be added to the list.
