Badge engineered Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets no mechanical changes.

PT Mazda Motor Indonesia (MMI) has launched the Mazda VX-1 facelift. It is the badge engineered version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga that is sold in Indonesia since 2013. The 2016 Mazda VX-1 has received the same upgrades the latter got last year.

The VX-1 features all the enhancements of its donor model, which are limited to cosmetics and features. Some trims get the red tail lamp extensions and the thick chrome appliqué above the license plate recess.

The feature additions are the auto-folding outside mirrors with integrated turn indicators, rear parking sensors, auto-up driver-side window with anti-pinch function, new head unit for the music system, pollen filter for the air conditioning system, driver’s seat belt with pretensioner and load limiter and a 50:50 split folding third row seat.

There is no change in the mechanicals of the Mazda VX-1. The MPV continues with the Suzuki K14B 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 92 PS and 130 Nm. The motor is offered with the choice of a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.
