Along with the standard model, Renault will introduce a sporty Megane GT variant at launch, which slots below the power-packed Renault Megane R.S. The standard model adopts a mature styling that borrows cues from the Renault Talisman and 2015 Renault Espace. It is 25mm lower and 47mm wider in the front, 39mm wider at the rear, and has a 28 mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing model.
The exterior features include a redesigned set of headlamps that flow into a V-shaped grille, sportier bumper design with larger air intakes and chrome accents, sleek LED taillamps, high waist-line, long LED taillamps that extend upto the central logo, and a single exhaust tip.
Although Renault haven’t officially revealed the interior, the leaked press image indicates that the 2016 Renault Megane will feature an all new interior with improved build quality and equipment. The center console houses a large infotainment touchscreen display that helps reduce the button count by integrating most of the functions into the display. The instrument cluster now has a tachometer display in the center and a digital speedometer within it.
Renault still haven’t revealed details on its engine lineup or variants. Expect them to arrive before its world debut.
