The second generation Citroen C3 Aircross is derived from the Citroen C-Aircross Concept introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March. The production version has slightly different bumpers, light graphics and air bumps, conventional door panels, ORVMs and greenhouse and a less vibrant colour scheme.
The interior appears to have a beige-black theme, but apart from vertical side air vents, not much is visible. Up top, there’s a dual-pane sunroof for fresh air and more sunlight.
The all-new Citroen C3 Aircross is based on the same platform as the Opel Crossland X and may have the same engines and transmissions as the 2017 Citroen C3. The small hatchback is available with 50 kW (67.02 hp) 1.2-litre PureTech 68, 60 kW (80.43 hp) 1.2-litre PureTech 82 and 81 kW (108.58 hp) 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder petrol engines and 55 kW (73.73 hp) 1.2-litre BlueHDi and 73 kW (97.86 hp) 1.2-litre BlueHDi four-cylinder diesel engine. The petrol model is available with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission choices, while the diesel model gets a 5-speed manual transmission standard.
The Citroen C3 Aircross should go on sale in Europe in the second half of 2017. The sub-compact crossover will rival with the Opel Crossland X, Toyota C-HR, Nissan Juke and the Hyundai Kona.
