It will enter production towards the end of 2016 and go on sale in European markets in early 2017.
The fourth generation Kia Rio features a new yet recognizable design. The highlights of the exterior are swept back projector headlamps with U-shaped LED DRLs, wider 'tiger-nose' grille and redesigned taillamps with arrow-shaped LED light signature. The B-Segment car is 15 mm longer, 5 mm wider and 5 mm lower than the outgoing version. The wheelbase also has been extended by 10 mm.
The interior features a new dashboard, instrument cluster, centre console, door panels and floor console. The dashboard houses a new 'floating HMI' (human-machine interface) touchscreen infotainment system and lesser buttons than before.
The new Rio will be offered with a selection of petrol and diesel engines with displacements ranging between 1.0L to 1.6L. Transmission options could include a 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic in Europe.
