The 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO Is Here
The best line from the press release on the updated 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO is "A new significantly reinforced hood avoids deformation at extremely high speeds, allowing it to keep its aerodynamic shape."

In other words, the GT-R NISMO no longer has unintentional active aerodynamics. That's a good thing.

As you might guess, the NISMO receives the same updates to the 2017 GT-R we saw at the 2016 New York Auto Show. That includes a reinforced body, refreshed dashboard, and upgraded interior. But because this is the NISMO version (and yes, we're yelling the all caps in our heads), there's more new stuff.

Primary among the 2017 model year improvements is new styling and aerodynamics to the front bumper, unique to the NISMO model. The front splitter - rendered in carbon-fiber reinforced plastic - extends out beyond the bodywork to help route air around the front wheels. Nissan says the 2017 GT-R NISMO produces the most downforce of any of its production cars to date. The suspension is also retuned, with minor changes to the springs, stabilizer bars, and adjustable Bilstein dampers.

Unchanged is the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 engine, which still makes 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque, up from 565 hp and 467 lb-ft in lesser trims. Four colors are available: white, black, silver, and red. Sales and deliveries begin sometime this fall, according to Nissan. Pricing has yet to be announced, but we expect it to be slightly higher than the $164,485 base price of the 2016 NISMO model.
