2018 Honda Civic diesel final specifications revealed, delivers 29 km/l
Honda has released the final specifications of the 2018 Honda Civic diesel for Europe. The all-new Honda Civic diesel arriving in India should have similar specifications, if not completely the same.

The 2018 Honda Civic diesel is powered by a comprehensively revised 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 120 PS at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. It can reach from 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds. A revised 6-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels. Honda's Idle Stop-Start system is standard.

The 2018 Honda Civic diesel's fuel consumption rating (NEDC test conditions) is 3.4 L/100 km, which converts to a very impressive fuel economy figure of 29.41 km/l. From mid-2018, the all-new Honda Civic diesel buyers will have a 9-speed automatic transmission option – a first for a 2WD Honda car.

Honda already builds the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine in India, at the Tapukara facility in Rajasthan. So, an aggressive pricing is expected for the first-ever Civic diesel in our market. The company will offer a 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine too in the Skoda Octavia rival. This naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine produces 141 PS at 6,500 rpm and 174 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm in the Thai-spec version. A CVT is expected with this engine.

Honda has confirmed that it will launch the tenth-gen Honda Civic in India in FY2018-19 (April 2018-March 2019).
