Worldscoop forum member Romano_A7 has posted a new teaser of a BMW model, which is allegedly the next-gen 3 Series (codename: BMW G20).
It shows the car's sporty LED DRLs among other details.
The car's new LED headlamps have daytime driving lights in a design similar to that of the reborn flagship coupe, the 8 Series. The single-piece surround of the new conjoined kidney grille is likely in Cerium Grey, which means we are looking at the M Performance variant equipped with M Sport package.
On the sides, the seventh generation BMW 3 Series has a more angular version of the signature Hofmeister kink, in line with the sharper exterior. At the rear, the slender LED tail lights are narrower and feature 'L' shape that is typical of the brand. Spy shots show that the wholly revamped interior will have a strong influence of second-generation BMW 8 Series, especially in the dashboard and centre console design.
Riding on the new CLAR platform, the all-new 3 Series is 55 kg lighter than the outgoing one. The centre of gravity is some 1 mm lower, and the 50:50 weight distribution has been retained. BMW promises significant enhancements to the rigidity levels of the body structure and suspension attachment. It has fitted the first-ever lift-related dampers that function continuously and progressively in relation to the respective spring travel.
Globally, the engine line-up will include a range of 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The company has confirmed that options will consist of its most potent four-cylinder engine married to an improved 8-speed Steptronic transmission. In Europe and maybe in select world markets, a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will kick off the range.
Just last week, BMW announced that the all-new 3 Series (sedan) is in the final phase of testing. Announcing the "Hey BMW" in-car voice assistant just days before that, the company confirmed it would start taking orders for the car in November 2018.
