Days before that, IAB viewer Johnny Daly has spotted an all-new Toyota Supra prototype on the public roads of the country.
The all-new Toyota Supra debuted in concept form as the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the forerunner inspired by the Toyota FT-1 concept from NAIAS 2014. The fifth generation Toyota Supra is a compact, two-door sports car with a front-engine/rear-wheel drive configuration. It sits on a new platform co-developed with BMW, one that will underpin the next-gen BMW Z4 as well.
The 2019 Toyota Supra will likely measure around 4.6 metres in length, 2.0 metres in width and 1.2 metres in height, and have a 2.5-metre wheelbase. The reborn legend may come as a Gazoo Racing-exclusive model. It sports a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine that sends power to the wheels likely via a ZF-made 8-speed automatic transmission. Reports say that this engine delivers 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque.
The next-gen Toyota Supra will go on sale in the first markets in early to mid-2019. Contract manufacturer Magna Steyr will build the sports car in Graz, Austria. The fifth-gen model could be a fine brand-building tool for TKM.
