2024 Skoda Elroq Teased, New Electric Crossover Coming October 1, 2024
We've known for a while that Skoda is preparing another electric crossover, and now we also know when it is due. The first-ever Elroq will officially premiere next week on October 1.

According to the Czech automaker, the official unveiling of the Skoda Elroq will be hosted in Prague at 19:30 CET (EST), with a special media cube situated in the center of the Czech capital. The event will also be broadcast on the company's social media channels, and assets will be published on the press website and YouTube channel, too.

Sitting below the larger Enyaq in Skoda's electric crossover family, the Elroq will look about the same as the one rendered out by Kolesa recently. Look for the same Skoda lettering on the hood, dual-headlamp design, large lower air intake, closed-off grille, and familiar styling out back. This will be the brand's first model to feature its new Modern Solid design language, which "combines robustness, functionality, and authenticity, conveying a sense of safety and strength."

Skoda has already announced the powertrain details. The Elroq lineup comprises the 50, 60, 85, and 85x trim levels. The latter two feature a 77 kWh battery pack that supports charging speeds up to 175 kW. The Elroq promises over 348 miles (560 km) of range, and in its top specification, it will boast 296 horsepower (300 ps/220 kW) from its bi-motor setup.

Customers opting for the lesser Skoda Elroq 85 will get their electric crossover with rear-wheel drive and a total of 281 horsepower (285 ps/210 kW). Picking up the Elroq 60 means having to live with a 201 horsepower (204 ps/150 kW) motor and a smaller 59 kWh battery pack. As for the entry-level variant, the Elroq 50 utilizes a 52 kWh battery pack and comes with 168 horsepower (170 ps/125 kW).

Given that the Czech car manufacturer has already released the powertrain details and the targeted range of the range-topping configuration, we know most things about the upcoming Elroq. Moreover, due to the multiple spy shots and teasers sprinkled with the occasional realistic digital illustration, we also have a good idea of what the model will look like.

The cockpit layout, technology and safety gear, and several other things remain unknown. Fortunately, the automaker will release all these details during the official unveiling in just a few days. We expect Skoda to open the order books in the Old Continent for the all-new and first-ever Elroq shortly after the premiere, and deliveries will probably commence before the end of the year. The Elroq should be one of the best-selling Skodas, so it's no wonder that the company has so much fate in it. But would you buy one if they sold it stateside?
