The Landy was used to carry Marley and his group to gigs around Jamaica. Since his death in 1981, the 4x4 has been 'Waiting in Vain' at the stars home in Kingston, now turned into a museum.
In 2013 the deserted ride receives a 'Redemption Song' of its own as a restoration project brings it back from the brink.
Thanks to support from hotel company Sandals Resorts International, Marley’s Land Rover will be brought back to life courtesy of a restoration project already underway.
The restoration will be completed by ATL Automotive, a Land Rover specialist in Jamaica and sister company to Sandals.
ATL wants to source a replacement engine and is looking for a suitable African-based military vehicle, since the original engine is said to have come from Ethiopia.
