Audi RS 6 Avant on Custom Wheels Is One of the Sexiest Station Wagons We've Ever Seen
Like all traditional body styles, station wagons are also losing ground to high riders. Nevertheless, that's not stopping certain companies from keeping them around, so regardless if you're looking for a premium compact, an executive, a zero-emission, or a V8-powered estate, the automotive industry has you covered.

Arguably one of the best money can buy, the Audi RS 6 Avant is the kind of ride that can keep enthusiasts up at night. First and foremost, it is very powerful for what is still a family-friendly machine that's on the premium side of the segment, and second, it goes like stink, and it doesn't need additional elbow grease for that.

Should you ask the four-ring brand how quick it is, then it will tell you that it takes only 3.3 seconds from zero to sixty mph (0 to 97 kph). That's basically modern-day supercar territory and a few tenths quicker than some iconic models from the past, like the Ferrari Enzo. Keeping the right foot down will see it max out at 155 miles per hour or 250 kilometers per hour.

It packs a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 motor, which produces 621 horsepower (630 ps/463 kW), according to the spec sheet. It is good for 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque and works in conjunction with an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission and pure quattro all-wheel drive, aided by a rear differential. And by pure, we mean the real thing and not the Haldex-based system you'd get in smaller models. It also has dynamic all-wheel steering, air suspension, and beefy brakes.

The aforementioned numbers are limited to the Audi RS 6 Avant Performance, which is also available in the United States of America. Yes, you read that right; the Ingolstadt company's super wagon can be had on this side of the world brand new from a local dealer. Should you decide to get one, you should prepare a six-digit sum. The official starting price of the 2024 model is $125,800, and that's before factoring in the destination charge and markups, as well as any optional extras.

Now that we've reminded ourselves a bit about the RS 6 Avant, it is time to check out one ultra-sexy example. Finished in black all around and featuring privacy windows, it also sits closer to the asphalt courtesy of a tuned suspension and comes with a roof box for enhanced practicality and a set of custom wheels from HRE. Featuring a gold look, they measure 22 inches at both axles and feature carbon fiber center caps. They're part of the Vintage 501 GTM series, starting at $2,450 per wheel in the smallest offering available – 17 inches.

Despite being stiffer and therefore not as comfortable as the stock one, this Audi RS 6 Avant is one of the best-looking copies we've ever seen. This proves again that less is often more, especially when it comes to the tuning world.
