BMW Photoshoot Goes Burlesque
Andy Warhol’s M1 Art Car is on show alongside burlesque-style photos at the first-ever Paris Photo LA.

To celebrate a ten-year partnership between BMW and Paris Photo, the Bavarian carmaker has brought Andy Warhol’s 1979 BMW Art Car as well as a host of burlesque-style photos to the inaugural LA fair this weekend. Hosted at Paramount Pictures Studios, Paris Photo LA has been presented with the M1 Art Car created by pop artist Andy Warhol in 1979, as well as rare making-of footage of his work alongside a mini-series of burlesque-style photos with the 6 Series Gran Coupe shot by internationally renowned German photographer Uwe Düttmann.

Warhol said his design was to “give a vivid depiction of speed. If a car is really fast, all contours and colors will become blurred,” while the set of snaps starring a 650i Gran Coupe and a pair of models acting out signature burlesque poses showcases the lighter side of the German carmaker.
