The board also can't decide how many models Mini should make.

Several months after the reveal of the Mini Superleggera Vision Concept Roadster at the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance in Italy, BMW still cannot decide whether it should bring the car into production, nor whether it should manufacture it itself or "give it to somebody else." Speaking to Reuters, BMW board member Peter Schwarzenbauer, who is charged with the Mini and Rolls Royce brands, said the decision regarding the electric roadster is at least six months away.

BMW is also trying to decide just how many models the Mini lineup should be comprised of, with numbers ranging from five to ten. Schwarzenbauer hinted that he is leaning more towards the lower number: "I think, slightly on the emotional side, that concentrating on five superheroes has a great appeal to me," he said.
