CFMoto’s Working On a New Sportbike With A 750cc 4-cylinder Engine
It wants to dominate all segments of the sportbike market.

If there’s one motorcycle manufacturer that’s been making waves over the past few months, it just has to be CFMoto. The Chinese motorcycle manufacturer seems to be keen on making its presence felt in all categories of motorcycling—from its small-displacement mini-bikes to its mid-sized ADVs.

But out of all the new models CFMoto has been rolling out, the SR lineup of sport bikes just has to be my favorite. Not too long ago, I got an up-close look of the new 675SR-R, the brand’s middleweight sportbike touted as the most performance-oriented machine in its model range. And while that bike indeed provides some exciting value for money, you just might want to wait until the bike we’re talking about today is officially launched before you decide to pull the trigger on a 675SR-R.

That’s because this upcoming bike one-ups the 675SR-R in the performance department, at least on paper.

Dubbed the 750SR, its name is pretty much self-explanatory. Should it come to fruition, the 750SR will be the biggest bike in the SR lineup, and perhaps the one with the highest level of performance, probably in CFMoto’s entire model catalog. You see, the 749cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, inline-four-cylinder engine produces a supposed 111.5 horsepower, putting it well within striking distance of bikes like the Suzuki GSX-R750 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.

It is, however, down by a few ponies.

But performance aside, the bike’s most striking feature just has to be its styling. It seems that CFMoto has gone crazy with the whole futuristic sportbike look, employing styling cues reminiscent of MV Agusta’s sportbikes. Provided what we’re seeing in the concept will actually translate to the production model, we’re looking at some aggressive aero in the form of angular bodywork and some pretty massive front-mounted winglets, as well as a four-into-four exhaust system that’s nothing short of eye-catching.

That being said, it seems that all this eccentric styling comes with a cost, as the futuristic sportbike is said to weigh in at around 213 kilograms, or approximately 470 pounds—and whether that’s wet or dry remains to be confirmed.

Ultimately, the CFMoto 750SR’s strongest selling point will more than likely be its price tag. And until CFMoto officially unveils this machine, we’ll just have to wait and see.
