Don't Call the Mazda MX-5 Super20 Girly
Say what you will, but the Mazda MX-5 is a fantastic driver's car, and the MX-5 Super20 concept is a purist's dream.

First things first: the Mazda MX-5 may at first come across as a hairdresser’s car, but it’s not in any way girly once you get behind the wheel. For the money, it’s one of the best driver’s cars on the road and has been for the past 20 years. Just a couple of years ago, the Japanese automaker introduced the MX-5 Super20 concept at SEMA. Mazda basically gave it more power, a stainless steel header and exhaust, new brake pads and anti-rolls bars.

Combined with 16" inch wheels and some unique bodywork, the Super20 looks, well, not like a hairdresser’s car. So is this the purest MX-5 ever made? Motor Trend’s Carlos Lago gets behind the wheel and takes it on some twisty mountain roads and the track to find out.
