Energica Debuts its Naked Eva in California
When it comes to electric motorcycles, Energica is something of a boutique brand. It only makes sense, then, that the Italian outfit has announced plans to open up its own branded boutique in the heart of San Francisco, at 53 Page Street.

This will be its first flagship store, and is intended to demonstrate its commitment to the US market. The Modena-based manufacturer also expects to develop a dealer network.

The news comes hot on the heels of the California road debut of the company's second model, Eva – a naked streetfighter with a more upright riding position than its original (very quick) Ego. Piloted by actor Bill Levasseur, the introduction to the bike consisted of a tour from Los Angeles to San Francisco, with a special stop at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering in Carmel.

The trip was made easier by the fact that Energica bikes have integrated level 2 fast charging. All told, the 450-mile tour included nine charging stops, averaging 23 minutes apiece. The team made sure to hit up all the expected destinations on their ride, including the famous Rock Store on Mulholland Highway, Alice's Restaurant on Skyline Blvd. in Woodside, and, of course, the photogenic Golden Gate bridge.

Revealed in production form late last year at EIMCA, Eva shares the same basic chassis and drivetrain components as its stablemate, but is a little softer in power output – offering 95 horsepower instead of the 136 ponies available with the Ego, and 125 pound-feet of torque, in place of 144. Top speed is set at 200 kph (124 miles per hour) and maximum range is said to be 200 km (124 miles) while in Eco mode. Energica tells AutoblogGreen the pricetag will read $34,000 once the store opens in July.

Though we haven't gotten our own mitts on the throttle just yet, from what we hear the experience is quite similar to the sportsbike, but perhaps just a tad less intimidating. You can check out some of its finer points in the video above, while the official press release awaits below.
