Even Plastic Engines Can Be Hot-Rodded
Not that any of this explains why. If you were to go out and buy yourself a Visible V8 clear plastic engine ($53 on Amazon), you could safely run it at about 100 rpm all day long.

It could possibly go a bit faster, but 100 rpm is really all that it’s designed for. However, if you were to obsessively and methodically upgrade components, you might be able to get it up to 7,000 rpm. That is what the poster of this video did, and as impressive as it is, “obsessive” might be a bit too mild of a word.

This is labeled as “test #135,” and the poster suggests all of the rest of the videos if you want to know how he did it.
