'Fast 8' May Win An Oscar Now That Helen Mirren Has Joined The Cast
The cast of “Fast 8” just got a whole lot more prestigious as Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren has confirmed that she will have a role in the film.

Mirren revealed the news in an interview with Elle where she was talking about her new film, “Eye In The Sky,” a war drama about drone pilots.”I like it to be serious. Of course, having said that I'm about to do Fast and Furious 8. But that's for the fun of it.” For those keeping score at home the cast now has two female Best Actress winners. The other is Charlize Theron.

Theron will be playing a villain but we don’t yet know which side of the line dividing good and evil that Mirren will stand on. Perhaps she’ll be an old flame of Mr. Nobody, the shadowy government agent in “Furious 7” played by Kurt Russel? While we don’t know what Mirren’s role will be we do know that it will involve driving, at least if she has a say in the matter. When asked by Elle if she was a fan of cars, Mirren responded as such. “Well, yes. I've always rather loved driving. I said, 'I'll be in it, but only if I'm allowed to drive if I do drive in it.' But we'll see.
