The production of the fourth generation Suzuki Jimny is already underway in Japan as evident from spy shots published last month.
The images fully reveal the front and side profile of the Suzuki Jimny. Suzuki has rolled back the years with the design of the new model. The neo-retro approach gives the exterior sharp angular lines, squared off wheel arches, and utilitarian looking round headlamps, and round front indicators and fog lamps. This one here is the 3-door hardtop configuration. Expect Suzuki to offer soft top versions as well. The Jimny will be available in loud colours such as the one seen here.
Despite its utilitarian appearance, the Suzuki Jimny will come with modern features like climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, a multi-function steering wheel, and an automatic transmission as well.
As per information shared on Team-BHP, the 2019 Suzuki Jimny's engine lineup will include 5-options. There will be a small R06A 0.66 L engine for the Japanese domestic market. Globally, the Jimny is expected to be powered by the 1.2 L K12C DualJet and 1.0 L K10C BoosterJet engines. For emerging markets, the Jimny is likely to employ the K12B 1.2 L petrol mill used by the likes of the Swift and Ignis.
According to a report from August 2017, the new Suzuki Jimny will reach the UK market next year. The company is hoping to increase its sales in Europe by 20 % with the launch of the off-road vehicle. It is likely to go on sale in its home market before the end of 2018.
