Modifications include a bespoke wing and special carbon fiber bodywork applied to the bumpers, roof and fenders - the latter of which were extended 30 mm to accommodate larger tires. Those were needed for the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-6 built by Rothsport Racing that sings up to a redline of 7,800 rpm while producing 400 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. The six-speed manual is custom-built by Getrag with ratios specifically determined for the 400R.
The new coilover suspension features a hydraulic lift system (one of the more modern elements to be sure), as well as new anti-roll bars front and back. The 18-inch stagger-width forged aluminum wheels encompass two-piece drilled rotors from Brembo backed up by new high-pressure brake lines.
The interior also gets an upgrade, with highlights including special Gunther Werks carbon fiber seats and a carbon fiber parcel shelf in place of the rear seats. The whole cabin is also highly customizable in terms of colors and materials, while the 18 exterior paint colors can be skipped in favor of whatever you see fit. For extra cash, of course.
Speaking of money, taking a Gunther Werks 400R 911 home will relieve you of at least $525,000 - and that's after buying the donor 993 or having Gunther Werks scrounge one up for you. So really, you're looking at about $600,000 for one sweet air-cooled 911.
