Hero MotoCorp has showcased two 125 cc scooters, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 and the Hero Duet 125 at the 2018 India Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Here are the scooters’ live images from the event.

Hero Duet 125:

Hero has positioned the new Duet 125 as a family commuter, with premium styling. Just like the Duet 110, the 125 cc variant also gets a metal bodywork. Apron-mounted indicators flank the large chrome chest. The analogue-digital combo cluster features a side-stand indicator as well.

The main feature of the Duet 125 is the i3S (Idle Stop Start System) technology, which marks its debut in a scooter. This technology is switchable, and helps in maximizing fuel efficiency. The scooter draws its power from a new 125cc Energy Boost Engine, producing an output of 8.7 bhp at 6,750 rpm; and maximum torque of 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine pairs with a CVT gearbox.

Coming to the cycle parts, the Hero Duet 125 gets telescopic front fork, and a single shock absorber at the rear. Drum brakes handle the braking responsibility on both ends. The brakes come with Integrated Braking System for superior braking performance. There are four colour schemes available: Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver white.

Hero Maestro Edge 125:

Hero Maestro Edge 125 is intended for a younger audience, thanks to its sharper design. The scooter comes with Diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail light and Frost winkers. Other notable features include Digital-Analog meter with side stand indicator and service due reminder; external fuel filling; remote key opening; mobile charging port and boot lamp.

Powering the new Hero Maestro Edge 125 is a new 125cc Energy Boost Engine, producing 8.7 bhp at 6,750 rpm; 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm. This scooter also features i3S (Idle-stop- start system) technology for enhanced efficiency. The drum brakes get Integrated Braking System and a front disc is optional. Telescopic front fork and a single rear shock absorber handle the suspension duty. Matt Techno Blue, Matt Red, Matt Brown and Matt Vernier Grey are the colours available.

The two scooters will enter the market by the second quarter of FY 2019. The two products also mark Hero's debut in the 125 cc scooter segment, which is currently occupied by Honda Grazia, Suzuki Access 125, TVS Ntorq 125 and the Vespa SXL/VXL 125.
