Honda City Facelift Codenamed ‘2GC’, Launch In 2017
According to a Team-BHP member, Honda has postponed the launch of the Honda City facelift to 2017, so as to compete against the next generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. It was earlier speculated to arrive in the upcoming festive season.

Codenamed 2GC, no details on the exterior changes exist at the moment. It could draw cues from the China-spec Honda Griez (reworked City), featuring a bolder grille with more chrome embellishments on the grille, larger projector headlamps with LED DRLs and a sportier bumper, while the rear-end could get revised taillamp clusters.

Honda could limit the changes to equipment upgrades and seat upholstery on the inside. As for engine lineup, the new City is likely to retain the 1.5-liter i-VTEC and i-DTEC engines. The gearing could be altered for better fuel efficiency.

The current Honda City is the best seller in its segment, which is priced up to INR 11.09 lakhs for the petrol-manual version and INR 12.32 lakhs for the diesel trim (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Expect little difference between the pricing of the facelifted and current models.
