Honda Finally Rolls Out the Production Version of the Civic Type R in Geneva
he Honda you've been waiting for. You know what the Civic Type R is already, so let's jump right into the important stuff.

The car is powered by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged VTEC engine that produces 305 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 295lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpm.
Both of those figures being higher than on any factory Civic ever, and that power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual. The engine redlines at 7 grand and the car will hit 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. Top speed comes to 268 km/h.

Honda makes a big deal about the car's aerodynamics, and the rear wing has been redesigned from the concept. Although the wing and the new 19-inch wheels are about the only things that sets the production car apart from the concept version, visually speaking. Five unique colors will be offered, Championship White, Crystal Black, Polished Metal, Brilliant Sporty Blue and Milano Red. No word yet on prices, but we have no reason to believe that it would be too different from the other hot hatches in the segment.
