Honda will show an EV concept and CR-V Hybrid at Frankfurt
Honda seems to be serious about its electrification push, having promised a new dedicated hybrid, and introduced plug-in hybrid and pure EV versions of the Clarity.

The latest evidence of the electric strategy are two vehicles coming to the Frankfurt Motor Show: the Honda Urban EV concept and the CR-V Hybrid prototype.

Honda says the Urban EV concept is designed specifically for Europe, and that it will lay the groundwork for a production model. Nothing else was revealed about it save the teaser photo above, which reveals almost nothing. It's possibly showing a funky grille that indicates charging percentage, or it could be a component of the dashboard. As for what the concept will look like, we expect it will be some kind of compact hatchback ideal for nipping around tight European streets.

The other car on display will be the CR-V Hybrid prototype. We suspect that this will be the same vehicle shown at the Shanghai auto show earlier this year. The teaser image shows that the color is certainly the same. If it is the same as the car from Shanghai, we know it has a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder coupled to a pair of electric motors. Rumor has it that it's the Accord hybrid powertrain. Though the crossover is listed as a prototype, it's all but guaranteed that it will enter production and will come to the U.S. Especially since Honda said it would bring a hybrid light truck to the U.S. market, and the CR-V, one of its best-selling models, is the most logical crossover to electrify.
