Honda WR-V (Jazz-based crossover) spied testing ahead of November unveil

The Honda WR-V will be based on the third generation Honda Jazz (Honda Fit). It's not just the platform that will be common between the two cars; South American publications suggest via renderings that the Honda WR-V will be a jacked-up, crossover-styled Honda Jazz. In which case, it will be pitted against the recently introduced Chevrolet Onix Activ, the Hyundai HB20X, the VW CrossFox and the Renault Sandero Stepway in South America.

In Brazil, the Honda WR-V will be powered by the 1.5-litre i-VTEC FlexOne (petrol-ethanol) engine that develops 115 cv (115 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 152 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm running on petrol or 116 cv (116 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 153 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm running on ethanol in the Honda Fit. It will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable transmission. Dimensions aren't known as of now, but the wheelbase has been reported to be 2.60 metres long.

The Honda WR-V is reported to have its unveiling at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November and will likely be launched in South America first. Its Indian launch will reportedly happen in 2017.
