India-bound 2018 Honda Vezel (2018 Honda HR-V) officially revealed
Honda has revealed the 2018 Honda Vezel (2018 Honda HR-V) for Japan. The Honda Vezel was introduced in 2013 and has received a facelift for MY2018.

The 2018 Honda Vezel features subtle exterior changes over the old model. At the front, the facelift brings a more upright upper grille that flows into full LED headlights, the LED fog lamp housing is bigger and the bumper has gone through minor styling revisions. Honda is yet to show the updated model's rear-end and interior.

As we had speculated, the new Honda Vezel gets Honda Sensing as standard. The outgoing model is available with this suite of advanced safety and driver assistance features in some grades. Currently, the following Honda Sensing features are available:

  • Traffic Sign Recognition
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • Pedestrian Collision Mitigation Steering System
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
  • Lead Car Departure Notification System
  • False Start Prevention Function

With the MY2018 update, the Honda Vezel is likely to gain auto high-beam function for the headlights and False Backward Start Prevention.

Honda offers the pre-facelift Honda Vezel with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-VTEC+DCD hybrid (petrol-electric) engines. In the petrol model, the engine produces 131 PS and 155 Nm of torque. In the hybrid model, the maximum power and maximum torque are rated at 132 PS and 156 Nm respectively. The electric motor generates 29.5 PS and 160 Nm of torque. The fuel economy rating (JC08) of the old Honda Vezel is 20.6 km/l (petrol)/27 km/l (hybrid).

Honda will release complete details of the facelifted Honda Vezel (facelifted Honda HR-V) on 15 February, 2018. The global rollout is expected to take place soon after.
