Last month Mitsubishi confirmed the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in South Africa. In the latest, the company has revealed that the launch will unfold this September.
LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and headlamp washers, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, sunroof, electric parking brake, dual-zone automatic climate control, power sliding driver and passenger seats with reclining function, 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and rear entertainment system are the equipment highlights of the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Warning system (BSW), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC) and Hill Descent Control (HDC) are the key safety and driver assistance features of the SUV.
The new generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport measures 4,785 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width and 1,800 mm in height, has a wheelbase of 2,800 mm and offers a ground clearance of 218 mm. It is available with 5- and 7-seat cabin layouts and the engine options for the right-hand drive version include 4D56 2.5-litre diesel, 4N15 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel and 6B31 3.0-litre MIVEC petrol. 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic and 8-speed automatic are the transmission choices.
Mitsubishi has indirectly confirmed that South Africa will get the new Pajero Sport with the 4N15 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel engine that develops 133 kW (178.28 hp) and 430 Nm of torque, in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Availability of the latest version of Mitsubishi's Super-Select 4WD-II 4×4 system is confirmed.
The all-new Pajero Sport's India launch will reportedly take place in April 2018. It will compete mainly with the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu MU-X.
