India-Made Ford Ka+ (Ford Figo) To Debut In Europe In H2 2016
Should be offered with three engine options.

Late last year, it was reported that the long-overdue Euro-spec third generation Ford Ka will debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, but that didn’t happen. Now, according to a report from Auto Express, the company will introduce the Euro-spec third generation Ford Ka in H2 2016.

While in India it is sold as the (second generation) Ford Figo, the European badge will read ‘Ford Ka+’. Ford uses this name for the car’s 4-door sedan version in South America, but in Europe, this name will be used for the 5-door hatchback version.

While the current Ford Ka is based on the Fiat 500’s platform, the Ford Ka+ is based on the older generation Ford Fiesta’s platform, albeit re-engineered for better rigidity. The report says that the car will be priced from around £8,000 in the UK. Currently the Ka is priced from £8,945 in the UK.

he Ford Ka+ should be offered in Europe with three engines: 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged three-cylinder petrol, 1.2-litre Ti-VCT naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT four-cylinder petrol. Transmission choices are expected to include 5-speed manual and 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch automatic.
