Indian launch to take place around Diwali.

Suzuki Motor has launched the 2017 Suzuki SX4 S-Cross in Japan. The facelifted model is priced from 20,62,800 yen (Rs 644 000).

The facelift has brought a newly-designed radiator grille with vertical chrome slats and chrome surround, slightly reshaped headlamps with fresh graphics and LED lighting, LED daytime running lights, a wide-mouth lower grille, remodelled bumper and a resculpted hood.

The JDM-spec 2017 Suzuki S-Cross measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,785 mm in width and 1,595 mm in height, has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm and a ground clearance of 185 mm. It's powered by the M16A 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 117 PS at 6,000 rpm and 151 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the CVT. Fuel economy is rated at 16.2 km/l in the front-wheel drive model and at 15.2 km/l in the four-wheel drive model with the new generation ALLGRIP system.

Maruti Suzuki is testing the facelifted S-Cross in India now, spy shots revealed last month. C.V Raman, Executive Director, Engineering, Maruti Suzuki, has reportedly confirmed that the 2017 Maruti S-Cross' launch will take place around Diwali (October-November 2017). The current model is available only with the 66 kW (88.51 hp) 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and 88 kW (118.01 hp) 1.6-litre DDiS 320 diesel engines, but the new model could include a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol unit in the list of engine options. An automatic transmission option is also expected to arrive with the mid-cycle refresh.
