A pair of exclusive Triumph motorcycles inspired by the 25th installment of the saga, 2021's No Time To Die, and owned by Daniel Craig himself, are set to be auctioned to raise funds for a noble cause.
Two high-performance Triumph bikes - a Scrambler 1200 and Tiger 900 - appear in some key action sequences in the latest movie in the franchise, marking the first time that the official franchise has partnered with the famous British motorcycle manufacturer. If you've seen the movie, you might remember that Bond rides the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC during the pre-title sequence, jumping it onto a market square in Matera, Italy. The spectacular stunt was performed by Paul Edmondson, nicknamed "Fast Eddie," who is a four-time World Enduro Champion.
No Time To Die hit theaters in 2021, and in 2022, Triumph released the Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition and the Tiger 900 Bond Edition, the first ever official motorcycles directly connected with the franchise. Only 250 units of each were made and sold out on the same day of their launch.
Inspired by the amazing custom motorcycles that star in the movie, the two exclusive Triumphs boast 007-specific touches and high-performance features that reflect the rugged elegance and power associated with the famous secret agent's rides.
The Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition is a sleek adventure bike with a unique "James Bond" design scheme. It has a premium 007-themed bodywork finished in a distinctive paint scheme inspired by the motorcycle James Bond rode in the movie, a real leather seat with an embroidered logo, elegant black forks, blacked-out finishes, and beautiful black anodized details. A numbered limited edition plaque and unique badging highlight its exclusivity, while a unique 'Bond' startup screen animation further emphasizes the movie inspiration.
Powered by a 1200 cc eight-valve engine that delivers 89 hp at 7,400 rpm and 81 ft-lbs of torque at 3,950 rpm, it offers the same exceptional performance and capability as the bike ridden by the secret agent. What's more, it is fitted with an Arrow silencer with carbon-fiber end-caps for a thrilling scrambler sound.
The limited-edition Scrambler 1200 rides on first-in-class tubeless tires, with a spoked 21" front wheel, and can offer exciting off-road riding experiences thanks to increased ground clearance and fully-adjustable twin-spring Öhlins rear suspension. All LED lighting, keyless ignition, heated grips, and cruise control are also part of the package.
Wearing a distinctive Matt Sapphire Black livery complemented by gold '007' Bond Edition graphics, the trail-friendly Tiger 900 Bond Edition is equally impressive. It is powered by an 888 cc 12-valve engine that kicks out 93 hp and 64 ft-lbs of torque, and it also comes with an Arrow silencer enhancing the unique T-plane triple engine sound. Both bikes feature a smooth-shifting six-speed gearbox and ride-by-wire technology.
The Tiger 900 Bond Edition branding, along with premium stitching, is visible on the heated rider and pillion seats, while the premium 'blacked-out' detailing throughout adds another layer of elegance. The frame, headlight finishers, side panels, footrest hangers, auxiliary lamp shrouds, and engine guards all have a premium black finish. The bike rides on Bridgestone Battlax tires, but it also comes with an extra set of Michelin Anakee Wild handbook-approved off-road tires.
Daniel Craig has now donated his personal low-serial number examples of the Bond-themed Triumph motorcycles (the Scrambler 1200 #003/250 and the Tiger 900 #001/250) to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), a sea lifesaving charity in the UK.
"The RNLI has been close to my heart all my life since growing up near the RNLI station at Hoylake. I have incredible memories of going afloat with the RNLI crew at Ramsgate to experience first-hand what it's like to be part of the organization that has saved over 146,000 lives since starting up over 200 years ago," the movie star said. "I am honored and immensely proud to support the RNLI and hope the auction of Triumph's Limited Edition Bond motorcycles proves popular."
The two Triumph bikes, signed by the beloved actor on each side of the fuel tank, will be auctioned off in separate lots by Bonhams in October. They are expected to fetch between $13,000 and $26,000 each and come with original documentation proving that Daniel Craig was the previous owner, as well as certificates of authenticity signed by both Craig and Triumph Motorcycles CEO Nick Bloor.
In addition to a fine piece of two-wheeled machinery, the winning bidders will also get a chance to enjoy a day at the Triumph Adventure Experience in Wales for a unique riding experience alongside Craig's stunt double Paul Edmondson and James Bond stunt coordinator Lee Morrison.
