The spokesman for the Consumers' Association of Mauritius (ACIM), Jayen Chellum, described the latest rise in the price of petrol and diesel "artificial increase."
Stressing the decline in oil prices on the international market, Jayen Chellum invites the State Trading Corporation (STC) in a debate with PMAC.
"No increase in the price of petrol and diesel was to be expected. Moreover, the price of fuel prices on the world market, with the exception of a slight increase in March, only showed no upward trend. In making comparisons, it is well aware that gasoline was increased artificially, "said Jaya Chellum.
"At PMAC, we called the figures for all cargoes of gasoline in March 2011 to date. But until March 2013, those concerned have not been able to provide this information, despite the fact that the Minister Cader Sayed-Hossen has promised us he will give us all the information needed, "stressed Jayen Chellum adding that the STC should have called the Petroleum Pricing Committee (PPC) on international statistics at the drop of gasoline.
"If it happens that the STC is safe figures it advances on gasoline prices at the international level, I invite the key players in the organization around a debate so they can tell us a little more about what we want, "said Jayen Chellum.
