Man Shoots Friend Trying to Prevent Him From Driving Drunk
Alcohol can bring out the stupid in people, so naturally, there are a few things you shouldn't attempt to do while imbibing, such as: open-heart surgery, sewing a button, tightrope walking, handling firearms and driving.

It's those last two that Scott Campbell, a 40-year-old Clevelander (not pictured in the stock photo above), attempted to do while three sheets to the wind on Saturday evening.

The Huffington Post reports the drunkard was attempting to leave the bar after an evening of heavy drinking when his friend, Java Bowling III (yes, really), attempted to take his keys to prevent him from driving home drunk. Good friend, right? Well, as things tend to happen when alcohol is involved, a scuffle broke out. Only instead of ending the night like most drunk friends do (you know, by attempting to walk through the White Castle drive-thru at 3:30 AM), Campbell shot Bowling in the chest.

He then fled, with police catching up to him in the neighborhood of Middleburg Heights. Campbell was arrested and charged with felonious assault shooting, having weapons while under disability (that's generous), tampering with evidence, possession of criminal tools and gun confiscation. Bowling was treated and is recovering from his injuries.
